The Director, Platform Innovation will identify and commercialize future value drivers and US commercial opportunities for the Lifestyle brands. The position will be responsible for developing and executing the long term innovation strategy, incubating new opportunities and bringing innovative products to market, generating between $50 and $100MM+ in new value creation.
The incumbent will ensure the use of customer/market insights to influence and craft growth agendas that expand the business boundaries and is responsive to ever-changing business and consumer needs. This includes expanding through new brands, channels and offerings that align within the Lifestyle Franchise.
Additionally, this role will lead a team of internal and external resources/contractors to develop, commercialize and market our products and solutions, which can include new operating models (e.g. direct to consumer). This position will work cross functionally to ensure collaboration and flawless execution in all areas of operational responsibility for these new brands and business while they scale up for inclusion in other business units.
The preferred candidate will be within commutable distance to a Nestle Health Science headquarter location (Chicago, NY/NJ, Palm Beach).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify and commercialize opportunities in new growth areas that will expand the business boundaries and be future value drivers. Analyze and launch opportunities that the organization can ultimately scale up.
- Incubate projects in growth areas - develop hypothesis, design, execute and measure to build business case for full commercialization.
- Refine existing business ideas through research and customer feedback.
- Discover unmet customer needs and extract customer needs/challenges that inspire ideas for future value drivers. Evaluate new opportunities – organic and inorganic.
- Collaborate with a network of internal and external partners to identify, launch and refine business ideas.
- Partner across the Brand Leadership Teams to develop opportunities and leverage expertise from COE’s and Brand leads.
- Build cross-functional teams that can go from concept creation to graduation of concepts into businesses for scaling.
- Develop plans and execute end-to-end work to launch a new opportunities.
- Present recommendations, key findings, progress and challenges to Leadership Team(s).
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline from an accredited institution required.
- MBA/Master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years of strategic CPG brand marketing experience in progressively responsible leadership roles. Consumer health/wellness experience preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership capacity.
- 3+ years of experience in an innovation capacity preferred
- Experience in driving transformation efforts with proven results in delivering strong sales and profit growth.
- Relevant marketing/brand experience in a fast-paced, product-oriented and consumer-driven company.
- Experience building new business opportunities and operationalizing them into the market.
- Experience in CPG, consumer health or pharma industries.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Broad knowledge of the growth process including inorganic and organic strategies
- Expertise within marketing vehicle prioritization, budgeting, ROI quantification
- Ability to articulate business case and influence key stakeholders
- Self-starter with high energy, with curiosity, autonomy, and a sense of urgency
- Highly results oriented with strong financial and strategic acumen
- Inspirational leader with experience developing people and driving change
- Ability to continuously look outwards for external opportunities, competitive intelligence, new trends
- Strong executive presence; capable of forging deep cross-functional relationships and influencing laterally at senior levels

The approximate pay range for this position is $170,000 to $230,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
