Position Summary
The Nestlé Purina Specialist Pet Care Team have a fantastic opening for a Brand Manager. to join their team. You will work closely with the Senior Brand Manager who will lead the role, to ensure the timely and effective execution of marketing plans. Working on Pro Plan Vet Diets you will be responsible for defining & implementing the UK annual B2B and B2C brand plans to deliver agreed business results & influence key stakeholders. You will also be required to ensure long term Zone Europe brand priorities; innovation pipeline and brand communication content are fit to win and excel in the UK market.

A day in the life of a Brand Manager
As a Brand Manager in the Specialist Marketing Team in Purina, you will be responsible for managing our Advanced Science Pro Plan Vet Diets portfolio. You’ll collaborate closely with the broader Marketing team across the entire Pro Plan brand, as well as with the Veterinary Sales and Technical Affairs teams to drive strategic alignment and growth. You will be expected to define brand strategy and build both short and long-term plans to achieve our ambitions aligned with the wider business vision, gaining exposure to all elements of the marketing mix and more. The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Collaborate closely with the Veterinary Sales Team to ensure seamless execution of B2B marketing plans and gather valuable field feedback.
- Work in strong synergy with the Veterinary Sales Team to integrate field insights and observations into strategic marketing initiatives.
- Partner with the Veterinary Technical Affairs Team to develop marketing materials for industry events, vet sales teams, and in-clinic communications.
- Play an active role in planning and delivering impactful presence at key veterinary and industry events.
- Ensure PFME is planned against strategic priorities and managed effectively and efficiently, driving focus on working media and avoiding the creation of local intangibles.
- Ensure the brand maintains a strong B2C approach as well, by simplifying the science behind our products and working closely with creative and media agencies to develop and execute impactful media plans that drive consumer awareness and engagement.
- Ensure digital and social is embedded in brand / portfolio communication plans.
- Being a key member of the UK marketing team and ensuring the execution of annual brand targets.
- Work with the Senior Brand Manager on managing the development & execution of marketing plans.
- Build strong relationships with zone representatives and use persuasive communication to ensure alignment and effective collaboration.
- Strong analytical acumen to interpret data and monitor both internal and external brand performance.
- Using insights and data to uncover key areas of opportunities for your portfolio.
- Supporting building Purina as an aspirational place to work for marketing professionals.
What will make you successful
The successful candidate will bring with them a wealth of experience in Marketing, operating as a Brand Manager currently or looking to develop from an experienced Assistant Brand Manager position.
You will be passionate, tenacious; results focused and enjoy working in a highly energetic and exciting environment. Acting as an ambassador for the brands, you will have strong project management and analytical skills. You will need to be highly organised, conscientious and a team player. Pro-activity and enthusiasm are essential elements for this role as is proven leadership capability and creative thinking. You will also:
- Ideally bring some experience in B2B marketing or show a strong ability and willingness to quickly develop expertise in this area.
- Can influence at senior levels both internally and externally.
- Demonstrate strong presentation skills, targeting a wide audience from customers to internal stakeholders.
- Possess strong analytical skills to interpret data, generate insights, and monitor brand performance.
- Be able to run sizable projects and work streams from concept to delivery.
- Have prior knowledge of running multi-pronged communications programmes.
- Be able to demonstrate your experience of leading major new product launches.
