Brand Manager – Soluble Coffee
Location: Gatwick (Hybrid)
Salary up to 45k depending on experience + potential bonus + generous pension scheme + 12 flexible days on top of 25 day holiday entitlement + 2 paid volunteering days + other fantastic benefits!
Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional Brand Manager to join the NESCAFÉ Soluble Coffee team based in Gatwick. This role will report directly into the Marketing Manager and will see you work on the world’s biggest coffee brand, NESCAFÉ, to deliver best in class marketing activities that support us to achieve our commercial objectives.
A little bit about us

From creating the very first NESCAFÉ in 1938, to joining the first expedition to the top of Mount Everest or being the first coffee on the moon – we’ve been part of creating great connections that have started with a coffee and lead to even greater experiences! A day in the life of a Brand Manager…
As a Brand Manager you will have responsibility for key parts of the NESCAFÉ brand portfolio contributing to UK market strategy & building long-term plans to contribute to the wider soluble portfolio success. You will also have full ownership and lead key projects and UK market activations end to end. You will have autonomy to lead brand analysis and identify new growth opportunities and drive key I&R projects, and will support management of multi-million pound ATL media campaigns. You will manage all elements of the marketing mix ensuring brand equities are maintained and accelerated throughout the activity we do whilst working closely with the Marketing Manager to achieve great results.
Key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Leading the development of a clear brand strategy and three-year brand plans, ensuring all brand activities adhere to brand purpose & strategy.
- Delivering agreed sales, market share and profit targets for the brand for which you’re responsible.
- Developing a comprehensive understanding of UK Coffee category including media, trade, competition and consumer behaviour to identify marketing issues and opportunities.
- Closely monitoring industry and competitor activity, to ensure plans are maintained and adapted in a constantly changing, competitive FMCG environment.
- Turning shopper & consumer insight and the category strategy into actionable and executable initiatives.
- Collaborating with your category team to evaluate the best price & pack architecture solutions across different channels in the market & leading the projects from idea to launch.
- Working collaboratively with our above-market teams & technical teams to deliver a strong NPD pipeline to drive growth.
- Constantly evaluating the effectiveness of marketing programmes & brand performance, adjusting plans in line with learnings.
- Working collaboratively with broad cross-functional teams in delivering best in class improved product formulations that are in line with the brand strategy.
- Support the team in the delivery and development of key initiatives on the Coffee sustainability roadmap.
- Coordinate and supervise all packaging artwork changes and communication with print managers.
- Leading careful brand budget management of the PFME budgets.
What will make you successful?
To be successful in this role, you will either have some fantastic marketing experience under your belt whilst being very commercially astute.
You will be passionate, tenacious; results focused and enjoy working in a highly energetic and exciting environment. Acting as an ambassador for the brand, you will have strong project management and analytical skills whilst being a conscientious team player. Pro-activity and enthusiasm are essential elements for this role. You’ll also:
- Have the ability to influence at senior levels both internally and externally, locally & across Zone Europe
- Demonstrate strong presentation skills, targeting a wide audience from customers to internal stakeholders.
- Be able to run sizable projects and work streams from concept to delivery.
- Be able to demonstrate your experience of leading new product launches.
