A day in the life of a Retail Marketing Manager
- Strategic planning, cross‑functional coordination, and agile execution.
- Reviewing promotional performance—machine sales, capsule forecast tracking, ensuring that activities align with forecasts and identifying actionable insights to share with retail and marketing teams.
- Managing campaigns by developing boutique guidelines, ensuring POSM readiness, and supporting visual merchandising implementation.
- Project leadership is constant, requiring tight alignment with IT, boutique regional & district managers, VM teams, and cross‑channel stakeholders. Whether validating promotional business cases, updating weekly trackers, or preparing retail meetings
- Retail Marketing Manager plays a key role in elevating brand experience, driving sales, and ensuring flawless execution across Canada’s boutique network.
- Manage marketing plan & coordinate marketing campaigns to ensure omnichannel alignment
- Drive innovation and ensure that the Canadian market is well positioned as a strategic and innovative pioneer within the global Nespresso landscape.
- Drive growth by leveraging opportunities through a strategic business plan for both retention & acquisition
- Plan and optimize all communication stream by ensuring proper communication calendar and follow up with KPI and analysis to make recommendation for changes in order to improve KPIs and ensure growth of the boutique network
- Ensure go-to-market activities are implemented in a timely manner and ensure omni-channel alignment on all acquisition & retention activities.
- Support and build communication & media plans for all new boutique openings, relocations, concept upgrades and closures
Budget Management
- Recommend annual budget for retail marketing & key strategic pillars on ROI & investment lead on budget accuracy.
Leading a Team as a Retail Marketing Manager
- Leading a team in Retail Marketing at Nespresso means driving clarity, creativity, and performance while creating an environment where people feel trusted, supported, and inspired to contribute their best. As a Retail Marketing Manager, leadership starts with setting a clear vision for campaigns, promotions, and boutique execution—ensuring that every team member understands the “why” behind the strategy and how their role directly impacts the retail experience and business results.
- Manage a team of four collaborators & establish the appropriate team organization in line with the operational plan and needs
- Recruit, develop, motivate, and manage a team to deliver superior performance and results
Role Requirements
- 8-10 years of experience in both marketing strategy, product strategies & management, in premium or luxury consumer goods
- Lead strategic planning such as business reviews, marketing plans & local programs
- Budget lead & management
- Ability to lead strategic planning and translate business priorities into clear retail marketing activities.
- Strong analytical skills to review machine sales, capsule performance, forecasts, private sale results, baseline vs. promo, and weekly trackers.
- Able to provide actionable recommendations based on data.
- Competence in validating business cases for promotions and machine/coffee initiatives.
