What to Expect:
We are looking for an Assistant Marketing Manager, Smarties, Coffee Crisp & Complementary, based at our North York Office, reporting to the Marketing Manager. In this role, you will work with a dynamic team to strengthen, evolve, and grow a brand in a fast-paced category. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain a deep understanding of brand building, harness your strategic and executional prowess, and become a category expert.
A day in the life:
• Provide fact-based recommendations to support consumer and customer initiatives that drive portfolio profitability and growth.
• Support the annual planning process, reviewing performance as well as consumer & category dynamics to establish 3 year and 18-month plans.
• Manage the end-to-end execution of key Innovation & Renovation projects, collaborating and influencing effectively across various stakeholders to execute with excellence.
• Manage all launch related initiatives and communication, including research, volume builds, packaging & product development, as well as launch presentations, sales kits, and samples for sales.
• Manage packaging, pricing, promotional, merchandising and distribution strategies to support segment plans.
• Support the strategy, planning and execution of consumer engagement campaigns and initiatives.
• Gather and interpret multiple sources of data (including Nielsen, Customer POS, Consumer Research, Financials, etc) to provide a complete understanding of category dynamics and business health.
• Budget Management and support the team in improving the return-on-investment year over year and tracking marketing expenses.
• Support and collaborate with internal team members and external stakeholders across various initiatives and launches.
• Harness a diverse range of perspectives and experiences, operating as a champion of the Confectionery business unit across the broader Nestle Canada team.
Role Requirements:
As the successful candidate, you will be working with multiple stakeholders throughout the organisation so you will need to be collaborative, results focused and really enjoy working in a highly energetic and exciting environment. You will already have great project management and analytical skills coupled with your highly organised, conscientious approach. Pro-activity, tenacity and enthusiasm are essential, and is your ability to understand and work within a competitive market.
You will also have:
• University degree in Business or Marketing, and or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of 2 or more years of marketing experience required.
• Proficient literacy in Nielsen and Microsoft Office, with strong attention to detail.
• Must be able to manage change and evolve in a fast-paced dynamic and matrix environment.
Preferred Skills
• Self-motivated, results focused with strong analytical skills and curiosity.
• Curiosity, and entrepreneurial spirit and innovative thinker.
• Passionate to build and grow brands, with ‘can-do’ attitude and a willingness to challenge status quo.
• Understanding of commercialization process within CPG with ability to leverage Nestlé processes, resources, and environment.
• Project management skills with end-to-end thinking and cross-functional leadership.
