We are looking for a Legal & Compliance Advisor to provide legal and compliance advice and to partner the business to provide solutions to issues while managing legal and compliance risks, including data protection, competition law, anti-corruption, consumer pprotection, sanctions.
A day in the life of a Legal & Compliance Advisor...
- Provide prompt and competent support to Director, Legal to enable Legal to advise and assist the business
- Reviews, designs, proposes, implements, and/or audits data protection and privacy matters, practices and documentation (including policies, notices, terms and conditions, etc) for Nestlé in Malaysia/Singapore in compliance with applicable laws and Nestlé policies, and considering the Nestlé business needs.
- Works with legal team and functional/business data protection champions to ensure that businesses collects and processes personal data in a compliant manner in accordance with Nestlé standards policies, guidelines.
- Be familiar with and knowledgeable on the latest developments in data protection generally and in particular in MY/SG as well as the Nestlé Data Protection Office. Create awareness by producing and conducting training and other awareness activities. Ensure that the data register, consent registers and all other requirements are up to date and compliant.
- To work closely with the IT department and HQ Compliance to ensure that any privacy assessments, including privacy impact assessment/business impact assessment, vendor assessments are structured and conducted in accordance with Nestlé standards and applicable laws.
- Day-to-day administrative support and maintenance of legal framework and matters
- Drafting and preparation of contracts, documents, letters, communications, training materials
- Keeps updated on legal developments and constantly reviews documents and policies to ensure compliance.
- Ensure legal advice is accurate by performing relevant reseach and ensure proper contract management systems are in place.
- Reviews and advises on Intellectual Property issues and matters, and manages access to IP databases.
- Manages and drives projects independently to achieve desired results.
What Will Make You Successful...

A good degree from a recognized university and being called to the bar in a commonwealth jurisdiction similar to Singapore’s legal system would be an advantage.

Preferably has data protection background experience for Singapore. Competition law, GDPR and IT knowledge is a bonus.

Preferably at least 3 to 5 years PQE or relevant working experience in a good law firm/established company.

Relevant FMCG experience would be an advantage
