Position Summary:
We're looking for a dynamic Consumer Insights Leader who can drive business results with strategic thinking and deep consumer knowledge, in two of the most exciting CPG categories- coffee and coffee enhancers. In this role, you will make an impact as a consumer-centric thought leader and co-pilot to your Innovation marketing teams. With your research, insight and foresight expertise, you will inspire your partners to join you in a collective pursuit for our Coffee & Beverage Division to grow in these exciting, dynamic, and transformative categories!

Primary responsibilities:
Leadership & Consulting
• Serve as the Insights “co-pilot” by providing thought partnership with Marketing management and cross-functional partners in Innovation. 
• Work with business partners to identify forward-looking opportunities for growth, short term and long term. Goes beyond the data and research, builds a “what, so-what, now-what” narrative that will drive action and impact business growth.
• Build consumer empathy and understanding across the business team by effectively communicating existing climate and identifying actionable learning needs. Spots burning platforms and opportunities for strategic moves, and tactical opportunities. 
• Continuously represent the voice of the consumer in an effort to know the consumer deeply and make decisions in favor of consumers. Understands consumers deeply, and has the skill to uncover and translate data, to meaningful and compelling insights. 
• Actively pursue opportunities for impact by discovering and sharing opportunities to showcase research/learning on high-value topics unseen or ignored by business partners
• Use clear, strategy-aligned criteria to assess the value of projects
• Collaborate across the Consumer & Marketplace Insights function to use our scale and increase speed via effectiveness and efficiencies

Develop Innovation Insights
• Understands how to leverage a Consumer Demand Landscape to identify Innovation opportunities and influence portfolio strategy.
• Embed learning to increase the impact of insights into action by making them meaningful to the Innovation strategy. Build the consumer story by connecting the dots across various pieces of research, primary and secondary, as well as behavioral data. Envisions impact of insights on the business, with an end-to-end thinking mindset.
• Focus on establishing business partners’ decisions and aligning the research agenda to them, then tailor communications of research findings to support upcoming decisions, Understands portfolio opportunity and pulls insight and foresight to support a full portfolio strategy.
• Redefine medium-value requests and eliminate or outsource low-value requests; challenge the need for learning as appropriate vs having courage to decide and go

Budget & Vendor Management
• Manage projects within approved budget.
• Use strategic assets to build non-monetary, reciprocally valuable relationship with suppliers, motivating above-and-beyond support and partnership

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Economics, Psychology, Sociology or related field required MBA preferred.
• Minimum of 7+ years of marketing research experience with budget responsibility in a consumer packaged goods company.
• Strong drive for results with a passion for Innovation.
• Ability to partner with Marketing teams to build long-term strategies.
• Experience in selecting appropriate, diverse Innovation and Product research methodologies, designing research studies, and trying new methods when appropriate.
• Experience leading projects with ownership of budgets, suppliers, research, and schedule.
• Strong sense of curiosity and desire to seek opportunities to self-educate on new methodologies and techniques, and general research and business news.
• Highly developed problem solving skills
• Ability to influence across multiple levels in an organization.
