POSITION SUMMARY

The Sr. Director, Brand Marketing is the senior brand leader for Stouffer’s, one of Nestlé USA’s flagship frozen brands, based in Solon, Ohio. This role is purpose-built for a pure brand marketer: a leader for whom brand equity, positioning, consumer insight, full-funnel storytelling, and portfolio strategy are second nature. The leader is accountable for strengthening Stouffer’s brand DNA while translating strategy into demand creation, product experience superiority, customer experience excellence, and profitable growth across a nationally scaled business with meaningful P&L impact.

This leader owns the end-to-end brand and portfolio agenda across product experience (PX), customer experience (CX), pricing, packaging, communications, innovation and renovation, retail media, commercial execution, and measurement. The Sr. Director sets the multi-year growth strategy, sees around corners to convert consumer and marketplace insights into an innovation pipeline, and makes the strategic trade-offs needed to balance near-term business delivery with long-term brand equity.

The role leads the Stouffer’s marketing organization of blended PX/CX responsibilities. The Sr. Director is expected to build capability, clarity, and accountability across the full team, ensuring PX leaders deliver consumer-led product, packaging, and experience superiority while CX leaders translate brand strategy into customer-ready growth stories, retail execution, digital shelf excellence, and full-funnel demand creation.

Success requires a leader who has scaled iconic brands with national reach, operates with strong financial and analytical acumen, and brings future-ready marketing fluency across AI, retail media, creator/social, advanced analytics, and personalization. Equally important, this leader must show up with strong leadership presence as a consistent, visible, and accessible leader on campus who transforms with change, inspires teams through ambiguity, and elevates the Stouffer’s brand and broader Frozen organization through clarity, ambition, and executional excellence.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy & Brand Portfolio Leadership

  • Lead development and execution of the Stouffer’s brand and portfolio strategy, aligned to 3–5 year growth horizons and Frozen Division priorities.
  • Own the annual brand operating plan for Stouffer’s, translating strategy into clear objectives, tactics, and resource plans to deliver NNS, share, and profit targets.
  • Set an insight-anchored brand ambition for Stouffer’s, including role of the brand, price/pack architecture, and renovation vs. innovation choices.
  • Establish brand guardrails and frameworks that ensure consistency and scalability across formats, occasions, channels, customers, and product/customer experiences.
  • Serve as the primary brand decision owner, escalating strategic trade-offs and recommendations as needed.

Consumer, Brand & Innovation

  • Lead consumer and shopper insight development to identify needs, tensions, and demand spaces that inform brand strategy, positioning, and growth priorities.
  • Own the Stouffer’s innovation and renovation agenda, partnering with R&D and cross-functional teams to build a robust, stage-gated pipeline from concept through commercialization.
  • Drive product experience superiority across taste, quality, packaging, claims, value proposition, and usage occasions to maintain a defensible, differentiated consumer proposition.
  • Convert foresight and consumer insight into a stronger innovation pipeline, seeing around corners and shaping choices before the market shifts.
  • Ensure innovation and renovation plans are grounded in consumer insight, operational feasibility, commercial impact, and brand equity.

Data, Insights & Measurement

  • Leverage brand health and business performance metrics (penetration, repeat, equity, ROAS) to guide decision-making and performance management.
  • Lead post-launch reviews, test-and-learn plans, and continuous optimization efforts to elevate marketing effectiveness.
  • Use insights and analytics to inform trade-offs, investment shifts, personalization opportunities, and strategic refinements.

Media, Communications & Agency Leadership

  • Lead integrated, full-funnel communications planning for Stouffer’s, ensuring strong linkage from brand strategy to creative and media execution.
  • Champion creative excellence and consistency across paid, owned, earned, retail media, creator/social, and digital commerce touchpoints.
  • Own day-to-day leadership of the Stouffer’s agency ecosystem, including briefing, performance management, and budget stewardship.
  • Partner with Digital, Media, Shopper, and Customer teams to advance consumer engagement, customer experience, and effectiveness across channels.

Integrated Growth Planning & RGM

  • Develop and manage brand-level investment frameworks, including PFME, media, retail media, and shopper investments.
  • Lead planning, tracking, and optimization of PFME spend to maximize demand generation, brand health, and ROI.
  • Partner closely with RGM/SRM, Finance, and Sales to deliver value growth through price, pack, promotion, and mix optimization.
  • Balance near-term performance delivery with long-term brand and equity building.

Commercial Excellence & Retail Execution

  • Translate Stouffer’s brand strategy into customer-ready growth stories and joint business planning inputs.
  • Partner with CDCE and Sales to strengthen customer experience across physical and digital shelf, including content, PDPs, ratings & reviews, retail media, and activation plans.
  • Support Integrated Commercial Planning (ICP) and contribute to multi-year market and customer strategies.
  • Act as the brand voice in key commercial forums, ensuring alignment from strategy to execution and from brand promise to customer experience.

People Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and develop the Stouffer’s marketing organization of 10, including 3 direct reports, with clear accountability across PX, CX, and blended PX/CX work.
  • Build strong brand marketing capability across the team, with elevated standards for brand equity, positioning, P&L ownership, full-funnel storytelling, innovation, and commercial execution.
  • For PX, coach leaders to deliver consumer-led product and packaging strategy, product experience superiority, innovation and renovation discipline, claims readiness, and insight-to-pipeline conversion.
  • For CX, coach leaders to translate brand strategy into customer-ready growth stories, retail execution, digital shelf excellence, retail media partnership, PDP/content quality, and customer activation.
  • Set clear expectations, coach performance, and develop talent pipelines to support current and future business needs.
  • Foster a high-performance, inclusive culture focused on accountability, collaboration, change agility, and growth.
  • Serve as a visible, accessible leader on campus and a role model for Nestlé leadership behaviors and Frozen Division ways of working.

Governance & Risk

  • Ensure all Stouffer’s marketing activities meet Nestlé standards for claims, compliance, and responsible marketing.
  • Embed sustainability, nutrition, and purpose where relevant in brand plans and execution.

FINANCIAL AND STRATEGIC IMPACT

  • Accountable for brand-level business results, including market share, sales volume growth, profit delivery, and marketing budget planning and management for the Stouffer’s franchise.
  • Translates enterprise and Frozen Division strategies into brand-specific, multi-year growth plans, ensuring alignment and execution across cross-functional partners.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline from an accredited institution required; MBA/Master’s degree with a concentration in Marketing or Business preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in Marketing, with a minimum of 5 years in Marketing Leadership positions.
  • Executive level stakeholder management skills (both internally and externally).
  • Strong acumen in digital marketing and e-Commerce.
  • Exceptional communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of diverse organizations.

CRITICAL EXPERIENCES

  • Pure brand marketer with deep strength in brand equity, positioning, consumer insight, full-funnel storytelling, and portfolio strategy.
  • Proven success scaling an iconic brand or portfolio with national reach and meaningful P&L accountability.
  • Strong track record unlocking innovation and renovation, converting insight and foresight into a commercially viable pipeline.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through change, multiple priorities, ambiguity, and transformation without losing clarity or momentum.
  • Visible, accessible leadership presence with the ability to inspire teams, influence senior stakeholders, and show up consistently on campus.
  • Future-ready fluency in next-generation marketing capabilities, including AI, retail media, creator/social, advanced analytics, personalization, and digital commerce.
