Position Summary  

 

As a Group Finance Counsel at Nestlé, you will play a crucial role in providing legal support and guidance in various finance-related matters. You will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and negotiating legal agreements for debt capital market transactions, debt financings, and derivatives. Additionally, you will support the Treasury team globally in corporate finance matters, ensure compliance with regulatory obligations, and provide legal advice on pension investments and insurance-related transactions. This role requires staying up-to-date with relevant laws and regulations, conducting due diligence, and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

A Day in the Life of a Group Finance Counsel

 

  • Prepare, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal agreements for debt capital market transactions, financings and derivatives
  • Act as transaction lawyer in collaboration with external counsel to execute cross-border funding and finance transactions
  • Support Treasury globally in corporate finance matters, cash management, the standardization of contracts and regulatory obligations
  • Provide legal monitoring and support for the group pension unit's investments in the financial market
  • Provide advice on Swiss and international financial laws and regulatory developments, including guidance on ESG-related financial structures and requirements
  • Interact with Group Accounting & Reporting and Group Tax departments
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Instruct and monitor external counsel as needed

 

What will make you successful

 

  • Master’s degree in law and successful completion of the Bar Exam    
  • Minimum 2 years of experience within in a top tier law firm focused on the finance sector coupled with in-house lawyer experience
  • Expertise in capital markets and debt financing transactions with significant experience in drafting, analyzing and negotiating complex documents is essential
  • Strong exposure in corporate finance, asset finance, private equity, and derivatives would be a valuable asset
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English. Knowledge of French and/or German would be an asset
